1. About this notice
This Cookie Notice explains what the lotandgavel.com website (the “website”), operated by Lot & Gavel, Inc., stores in your browser and which outside services your browser contacts while you use it. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.
3. What the website stores and loads
The table below lists the one item the website stores in your browser and the outside services your browser may contact while you use it.
| Item | Type and provider | What it does | What is stored or received | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
ll_attr |
Session storage (not a cookie). First-party: set by Lot & Gavel. | Remembers how you reached the website so that this can be attached to a form submission. | Campaign tags from the link you followed, if any, and the referring web address. Stored only on your device. | Until you close the tab |
| Plausible Analytics | Cookieless analytics. Plausible Insights OÜ, based in the European Union. | Counts page views and form sign-ups so we can see aggregate statistics. | Nothing is stored on your device. Plausible receives the page address, referring website, IP address and user agent, and does not store the IP address. | The hash used to count unique visitors is discarded every 24 hours |
| Google Fonts | Web fonts, no cookies. Google. | Delivers the font files used to display our pages. | Google receives your IP address and browser information with each font request. | Set by Google’s privacy policy |
| Formspree | Form processing. Formspree, Inc. | Receives our waitlist and seller application submissions. Contacted only when you submit a form. | The information you enter, the submission details described in our Privacy Policy, and your IP address and browser information as part of the request. | As described in our Privacy Policy |
Session storage and ll_attr
When you open a page on the website, it checks the page address for campaign tags (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term and ref) and notes the address of the page that referred you, if your browser provides one. It saves these under the key ll_attr in your browser’s session storage.
Session storage is different from a cookie. It belongs to the browser tab you are using, it is not sent to our servers with each page request, and your browser deletes it when you close the tab. If you submit the waitlist form or the seller application, the website attaches the saved information to your submission. If you do not submit a form, it never leaves your browser.
Plausible Analytics
To count unique visitors without cookies, Plausible combines your IP address and user agent into a hash that rotates daily and is discarded every 24 hours. It does not store your IP address. We see only aggregate figures: page views, referring websites, browser, operating system, device type, country or region, and the number of form sign-ups. Plausible processes this data in the European Union.
Google Fonts
Our pages use fonts from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files directly from Google’s servers, so Google receives your IP address and browser information as part of that request. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
Server logs
Separately from the items above, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs for security and troubleshooting. These are not stored in your browser. Our Privacy Policy describes them.
4. Your choices
Browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies and other site data, and many let you block requests to outside services such as web font or analytics providers, either directly or through an extension. If you block Google Fonts, the website will display in your browser’s default fonts. If you block Plausible, the website will still work.
Clearing site data. Closing the tab clears ll_attr. You can also remove it at any time by clearing the site data for lotandgavel.com in your browser settings.
Global Privacy Control. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of the sale and sharing of your personal information. We do not sell or share personal information, so the signal does not change how the website works for you.

This notice is effective October 5, 2026. We will update it before the marketplace opens in March 2027, and whenever we change what the website stores in your browser or which outside services it uses. Each update will show a new effective date at the top of this page.
